The Sharecropper's label harkens back to the spirit of the old
sharecropping ideal of a partnership between landowners and laborers who
toil producing the crops. In the sharecropper relationship, the farmer
and the laborer split the harvest profits, and this is essentially what
we did with our growers. The fruit for this Pinot Noir was sourced from
several sites in the Northern Willamette Valley, predominately the
Eola-Amity Hills and the Yamhill-Carlton District. The warm summer of
2009 yielded fruit ripe with dark cherry cola flavors and an
undercurrent of earth and coffee bean. This very balanced Pinot Noir is
an excellent value, ready to drink now through 2012.
