"Limpid ruby. Slightly withdrawn nose offers fresh red berries and
an element of dried flowers. Gently sweet red fruit flavors are
leavened by firm, tangy minerality, which adds back-end lift. The
sappy cherry and redcurrant flavors carry through the persistent,
refreshingly bitter finish. I'd give this a little air or a few
more months of bottle age."

"Fine-grained, focused and juicy, with green herb-accented
raspberry and cherry flavors that play against crisp tannins, as
the finish lingers. Best from 2012 through 2018. 2,150 cases made."

The 2008 Pinot Noir
Winemaker’s Cuvee is a blend of 4 vineyards aged for 10 months in
30% new oak. It is an easygoing, slightly superficial effort that
has pleasant aromas and flavors but lacks depth and
concentration.
Panther Creek’s wines have been less than inspiring in recent
years. I find it surprising that in a great vintage like 2008,
three of the eight wines presented could not be recommended and
only one barely qualified as outstanding. Not to be too harsh on
Panther Creek, no one will be offended by these wines. In fact,
most imbibers will enjoy them. However, compared to what they used
to achieve and the quality of the 2008 vintage, in that context
these are disappointing wines.
