This magical red pops with aromas of
licorice, cassis and curry spices. As it slides onto your
pallet you sense black pepper, then dusty earth and fennel.
Gentle tannins dominate. Finishing long with flavors of
boysenberries and dried cherries, you come to realize this is a
complex and beautiful creature full of dark fruit and
epiphanies.

Syrah harvested from McKinley Springs
Vineyard Oct 2, ‘08. 26.6 brix, 3.65 pH, TA 0.57.
Mourvedre harvested from Coyote Canyon
Vineyards Oct 28, ‘08. 23 brix, 3.32pH, TA 0.87.
Syrah had longest fermentation of 39 days with temperatures in the
must topping out at 82 degrees. Racked off lees april 2,
‘09. Blending completed on Aug 28, ‘09. Returned to
barrel for aging. Bottled on Mar 27, ’10
