The 2006 Syrah Oui Deux is
again predominantly sourced from the Stone Tree Vineyard and
contains 5% Viognier co-fermented. It was aged for 14 months in
one-third new French and Eastern European oak. A glass-coating
opaque purple color, it delivers a complex perfume of smoke, game,
espresso, licorice, blueberry, and blackberry. Full-bodied on the
palate, it has layers of succulent fruit, plenty of peppery spice
notes, excellent balance, and a fruit-filled finish. It will evolve
for 4-6 years and have a drinking window extending from 2014 to
2021.
Bergevin Lane, located in Walla Walla, continues to make impressive
wines at a range of price points. These three value wines are
first-class. |
