"Juicy, focused and well-proportioned, with cherry and spice
flavors playing against hints of rocky earth on the finish. Drink

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon
has 16% Merlot and smaller amounts of Petit Verdot and Malbec in
its blend. It, too, was aged for 20 months in predominantly French
oak. Spicy black fruits, earthy minerals, herbs and spices form the
bouquet of this ripe, nicely proportioned Cabernet which is well
priced for what it delivers. It will provide enjoyable drinking
through 2020 if not longer.
Annette Bergevin and Amber Lane continue to turn out excellent
wines at very fair prices from their Walla Walla-based winery. The
current releases, particularly the Syrah cuvees, appear to be their
best wines to date. The Calico wines are always terrific values and
the new releases are no exception. |
