Our Tikka’s Run Pinot Gris is a blend of fruit from our Wascher and Chestnut Hill Vineyards. Each vineyard brings very different ripening characteristics to the blend, as the Wascher site is low elevation (300 feet), and ripens early, while Chestnut Hill is our highest elevation site (900 feet), and ripens late. Elevation and soil combine to bring the blend a unique mix of aromatic and flavor characteristics.
Fruit from each vineyard is harvested and fermented separately in stainless steel before the lots finish their evolution in neutral (used) oak barrels. The Tikka’s Run boasts a nose of citrus fruits and pears, with hints of kaffir lime. Its flavors again hint of pears, and the finish reminds us a bit of lemon meringue pie. Winery Notes
